Welcome to the Club Keith.

You have made a first class choice of car in a 993.

Enjoy both the Club and your car[:)]

Keith,

your 993 looks nice - any meaning to the numberplate?

My 993 is my first Porsche as well... I've had it for two years now.

Hi Keith, welcome.

I've had five Porsches but eventually got a 993, so you got there much quicker, and probably cheaper. [:)]

But I won't be moving on from the 993, my son Tom will inherit it, hopefully not too soon. [:D]

Did they say why they were surprised? My first Porsche was also a 993. I've had it over 12 years and 97 K miles and like Gerry I can't see it being replaced by anything. It's just such a good car [:)]

Thanks for the comment guys.
Think they expected something like boxter for first porsche.
The car is fabulous and hasn't missed a beat
The plate came with the car

Congrats - the fitness key is to not let it sit in the garage for weeks on end[;)] - use it and have fun!

My 993 first for me too[:D]
Welcome Keith - good to see another black 993 C4 in Scotland! Mines going to gain about 3K miles in next 9 days - heading for Leipzig and Stuttgart with the club[:)]

Wonder what your friends would make of my Porsche history then !! I am on my 6th Porsche and yes it's a boxster s and absolutely brilliant everyday car . The 993 3 cars ago was also great fun but had to go to fund one of the 5 kids postgrad fees :-( one day I have promised myself a nice low mileage pristine example like johns !!

My car is midnight blue.
Looks dark in the photo.
I'll be out on some I the runs dependant on my shifts

Hi Keith,

Regardless of what the purist and the modernist may say, the 993 is the best 911 porsche ever made, be in no doubt. Mechanically superior to anything before it, beautiful, safe, powerful, and with a little bit of Britishness thrown in (Tony Hatter designed the body.) A top choice. Welcome to the club.

hi,
way back in 2004 my 1st porsche was a 911,
not any 911 but like you a 993.
and wow what a car its all my dreeams rolled up in one
great big bundle !
i wouldnt change it for the world
its the best, just look after it.
have fun as well.
