First service and Leaking AC condensers

Hi all

My 2019 sub 8k C2S cab is in for service. Originally a 2 day job due to the volume of software updates and other campaigns.
The health check reported advisory on the 2 rear tyres that were down to 4mm. I can deal with that, although I'm rather surprised at the rate of wear. I wonder if the rear wheel steer is contributing to wear?

That's not the subject of this post however.
What brings me here is the advisory that both air conditioning condensers appear to be leaking. The service department initially said covered under warranty, but then said its damage caused by stones ( presumably entering the huge vents at the front.) They are now less sure Porsche will pick it up but are seeing if a contribution is available.
In my view, this is a design flaw. The car is low mileage, not tracked and vulnerable componentry should be protected. Has anyone else been on this journey with Porsche, and how did it turn out? Rather interested in views as otherwise I'm looking at a £1600 bill

Ha! Some things never change, it seems.

I had one replaced when my cat was a month old due to stone damage. However, they did that free out of "goodwill". I've had several condensers since but they were all down to corrosion - which is covered by warranty. Normally stone damage isn't. Get grilles fitted....[:)]

Interesting I have the car booked in today as A/C only working to a very limited extent. Went on holiday a couple of weeks ago during very hot weather to find it was not working! Thankfully we have sunroof but not quite as effective in very hot weather.
Service department suggested that it would need regassing at £200, Car is only 2 years old so should not need regassing , never had to do this on previous Porsches and ever on many BMW’s on much greater age. The service advisor suggested that it may be due to different evaporation rate ! find this hard to believe. They are going to check the system over as still under warranty.
Not using my normal dealer as they quoted a 2 month lead time for appointment. Also no loan cars from either dealer.
overall impression of recent Porsche service is that they can‘t be bothered and still want to charge top dollar.
