First Trackday Advise

Hi All,

Finally decided I must take the C4 to a trackday - Brands Hatch is nearest me on Indy circuit.

Given I am a complete trackday novice does anyone have any essential advise before I go?

Thanks,

Steve

Congratulations Stevett, your first track day is a big event, and one you'll always remember, no matter how many you do subsequently - so don't foul it up! You'll have a very comprehensive briefing before they let you and your car anywhere near the track itself, but, it's very easy to get carried away, and, Brands is a VERY unforgiving circuit. I've raced and tutored at Brands over the years, and the one thing I always drum in to anyone driving round for the first time, is drive slow, drive smooth, and be aware. Speed will always come, once you've mastered the lines and braking points to the corners, but too fast too soon, and you could well have a very unpleasant experience. Just take it easy and listen to the instructors, and you'll have a great day. Enjoy!

Hi Steve
I did my first track session last week at Brands on a Novice Only evening.
It allows you to experience the trill of drivng on track without the pressure of being surrounded by more experienced drivers on track at the same time.
The sessions only last for 20mins which for your 1st time is sufficent I think and are reasonably priced at £25 a session

There's some good preparation advice on the Club's Motorsport site: http://www.porscheclubmotorsport.co.uk/content/porsche_club_track_days_prepare_your_car
