Wow what a great gear change I have now, well worth the 60 quid.

The old linkage was stuck solid on the box selector shaft but a bolt style ball joint splitter was the perfect tool to remove it.

Just got to wait till tomorrow now to use the car as my stainless steel centre box has a split on a seem which I've had to take off to get welded..

One thing crossed off the list.

Another thing added... [;)]

I've only ever heard good things about only944, they seem like good folk with good products

I've crossed a few things off this week!

But I know what you mean, be something else soon :)

Booked in for belts in 3 weeks then I'll finally be able to drive it properly!

Hi,

I'm aware of other manufacturers of shift replacements. Is the best of the bunch?

Let us know how the shifter feels, and if you went for standard or short shift set-up please.

Regards
Paul

It feels fine, tight and precise. It is the short shift setup

I've got the only 944shifter, lever and linkage and it's a very good setup. Customer service and delivery really good as well.

I've tried Euan's JMG setup - i think it's the "sports shift" (just stationary, sat in the driver's seat making engine noises [:D]) and I'd say that's a little better, but it is more expensive.

Either one transforms the usually sloppy 944 change (don't forget the gearbox mount(s) can play a part as well..)

Well that's me sold [:)] . Just made an impulse purchase of this 944short shifter . Suspect the plastic bush in my linkage is knackered anyway so may as well kill 2 birds with one stone and fit this .
