Fitting a rear valance

After owning a couple of 911s in recent years (both 3.2 Carrera Sports), I decided to go for a 944 this time.
I managed to pick up a very nice 1989 2.7 car in Bristol the other day for so little money, it seemed like an absolute steal! It cost just one tenth of my last 911(also an 89 car). With 12 months MOT, FSH, 125k, no rust, perfect original paint, an almost perfect interior and it looks and drives beautifully. The only fault seems to be a sizzling and rather vague gearstick - diagnosed as a worn pin on the stick - which will be fixed on Friday. So - why doesn't everyone have one of these cars ?
Now I'm intent on giving it the everything it deserves.
I have bought a secondhand rear valance (genuine Porsche), but before I get on with fitting it, I thought I would ask if anyone else had done this job and whether there was any advice/tricks/ difficulties etc.

Not done this but on the lookout for a rear valance for my 2.7 so would love to know where you got yours from and will be watching this thread avidly.

Hi and welcome to the best group!
There are 2 (at least!) rear valances, toast rack which is 1 piece and the "turbo" which has 2.
Mine has the toast rack which is simple to fit - line up drill holes insert bolts but I'm not sure of the reccommended method to keep the 2 peice ones in line

Just remember to treat drilled holes with some sort of rust prevention, personaly i would paint any bare metal with touch up paint, then give the final fixings a good coat of cavity wax etc

Thanks for that, Jim - just downloaded and printed the article, so I'm ready to go.
Eldavo - I bought a genuine Porsche Turbo (2 piece) valance off eBay for £80 delivered. It needs a minor repair to two of the studs, but otherwise it's perfect - just needs a respray to Alpine white.
