Fitting Front Bumper to a 996 MY02 C2

Hello People

I plan on having a go at fitting a front bumper to my 996 MY02 C2. The current one has a nasty crack in it thanks to a now very dead suicidal pheasant, and I have managed a source anther. Does anyone have any experience of fitting such an item?

I am fairly handy with cars, have a good selection of tools and need an excuse to stay out of the house and hiding in the garage over Christmas. It seems like an ideal job, but I am nervous about starting then realising that it is much more complex that I am thinking.

Cheers for any advice or prior experiences that people have had

Thanks

James

ps I am a member, but it seems impossible to get marked as such..

It should be easy enough for you to get the front off - I have done it with my car, although it is a Boxster S not 996 - the procedure should be similar.

Here is a link with pictures of how to do it - you should be able to judge if you want to take it on...
Removing the front bumper

The main problems I had was it "sticking" on after all the fixings were removed, and it being prevented from going back on because the rubber shrouds around the radiator openings were getting in the way (invisibly!)

It is really a 2 person job though...

As to the Non-Member thing - have you tried the stuff in my signature (below)?

Thanks Mark, this link is just what I needed. Looks pretty straight forward.

Cheers

James

ps I have tried mailing before but no luck, will try again.
