fitting harness

please could someone advise me on the best way of fitting a 4 point harness to my 964rs.i have no rollcage fitted and wondered if there are any specific mounting points i need to consider when fitting a harness.i would presume the mountings would be fitted into the rear bulkhead,but i am unsure of this.i would be gratefull if anyone could help me with this.
 
There are a couple of screw threads in the rear parcel shelf, you will need to have two more tapped and threaded and that's a window out job.

As an alternative there are harness bars available from Brey-Krause which fit between the B-posts.

Does the RS come with seats suitable for a 6-point?
I would recommend this direction if so...

Edit:
If you have not got a cage, then sticking with the 3-point is safer - but will not give you so much control... (If you invert a 3 point (lap and shoulder strap) is designed to allow your body to move sideways and slide away from the roof - a 4 or 6 point will obviously ensure your head/neck is the main support if the roof is pushed in...)

Your right Mel but not all have the captive nuts fitted to both holes!
Mine had one, the other was added by Autofarm - without taking out the window (impressive or what?). Probably the best alround solution.

I cannot agree more with Mark. 4/6 point harnesses without a roll cage are dangerous. They increase the chance of injury rather than decrease it. If you need to be held firmly with a conventional belt, there is a device that allows you to pull it tight and lock it while still retaining the benefits of being able to move in the event of a roll over. Sorry, I cannot remember its name!
 
The mind boggles Tony -but with the full Matter cage in the Cup Car and the unavailability of a small child, I think my guys opted for window out as the easier option!! ;-)

I'm pretty sure you can fit 4, 5 or 6 point harness to the 964 RS. My car has 4 pt and I was considering changing to a 5 pt. The seats have a slot cut in the bottom for the crotch strap. The guy who was looking at the car (and had fitted several) said a 6 pt could also be fitted by using mounting points at the front/side of the seat.

For the crotch strap, the Cup Car has two eye bolts let in to the floor below the seat.

I don't know if there are screwed threads in the RS already for this -somebody will have to check!!

A six point sure feels secure, but a b*gger when you've left your keys in your pocket......

The clip Simon mentioned has been advertized in various car mags over the last few months -there is also one available called 'Klunk-Klip', but I think that is just to ease the pull on a three point system.

BTW, for those who have asked, Des is alive and well and working his nuts off, currently in the market for a GT3......

There is a device called CG-Lock promoted and marketted by Calum Lockie/Goldtrack to use on the normal 3 point inertia reel.

Schroth make a harness with "ASM".... part of the strap is folded over and stiched and when a determined pressure is reached, will progressively tear the stitching and prevent you submarining by allowing you to move to one side. They have to be fitted LH and RH to slam you and your passenger into the doors and not each other. Whether that is enough to avoid getting your head crushed if you dont have a cage I dunno.

AFAIK, that's not the purpose of the stitching in the strap -this is to tell you that if it is ripped, then the belt has been subjected to an accident and should be replaced. I have them on the shoulder straps in my car.

Simon -shoulder pads available from Sabelt and others if the brakes are too fierce, but I tend to strap myself in so tight on track I can't move anyway!!! Ooooooh matron..... ;-)

Check out hmsmotorsport.com who are the main importers of Schroth harnesses in the USofA where they describe in detail this design feature...

Pretty obvious if your belt has a dirty great rip in it it needs replacing!

Would you like to borrow me mum's straightjacket Melv??? That is nice and comfy....
