Fitting new tyres

Some new tyres are imminent. So a few questions arise in my mind:

1. When I last looked there were a couple of reasonable-looking deals on suitable tyres from Black Circles and Kwik-Fit. Can I trust the fitting to a local (probably major-chain) outfit? (I recently bought a couple of tyres for my Audi A4 via Black Circles and the local outfit did a good job.)

2. Is it possible to jack up the car wrongly and put the alignment out? Or worse? How significant is this risk?

3. Any recommendations for tyre outfits in Bucks/Herts/Berks/Oxon?

4. Do new tyres mean new alignment check? I hope not: full alignment was done only a few weeks ago...

Tks in advance.

I can recommend Bath Road Tyres in Slough - they're affiliated with Micheldever Tyres, near Andover (which I think many in the South will know), and can generally match any deal.
I've personally never had a problem with the technicians jacking the car wrongly, and I guess you could stand there watching if you're at all worried to see that they do it properly.
As for alignment, you certainly shouldn't need it done again just by changing the tyres. New tyres may however, show up uneven wear if the alignment had been done incorrectly.

I'll leave others to advise you re the alignment but micheldever often seem to have the best deals on tyres (althogh you have to factor in a small charge for delivery to you and fitting by a local tyre centre if you aren't going to their workshop.

Always worth trying them for a quote: www.micheldever.co.uk

I recently replaced my rear tires. The best quote I got was from kwik-fit. You can get an online quote which is cheaper and take that along to your local dealer. Just bear in mind that the tyres you want may well not be in stock so give them a call before hand to allow them a couple of days to get them!

I have used Kwik Fit as well with no problems, and was lucky to get all four tyres done on a buy 3 get the 4th free deal!

I have always been advised to get alignment done with the new tyres on the car.
