Fitting Oxygen Sensor

Is this a straightforward job for someone with no mechanical ability whatever and
does it require removal of half the back end of the car to access the offending part(s)?

I've a feeling I should leave it to the experts...they can also double check the 'resistance'

Thanks again

replaced mime recently just for the hell of it!, remove the guard, two ten mm bolts if I remember rightly, you'll need a open ended spanner thats a good fit onto the sensor and unscrew and replace, follow the cable to the plug connector somewhere near the right hand suspention turret, feed the new cable through (there are a couple of cable clips to unclip) and plug in. Remember not to get any debris or grease on the sensor tip.

ps. you should disconnect the wiring and pull it out before unscrewing the sensor. But I ensured the sensor was going to budge before doing the wiring

good luck

WHATEVER YOU DO!!!!!

Do not cut the wires on the old one when you rip it out, unless you've unplugged it first. It leads to a very expensive bill, (or so I'm told by someone that did it!!!).

Really simple job to do, but it's easier to fit the new sensor and work upwards with the wire than fit the wire and work downwards with the sensor. From memory, there's about three clips that hold the cable at various points on it's travel through the engine bay, but they're really obvious.

Regards
