Fitting rear seats belts

[FONT=arial"]I have a 1986 944 Turbo without rear seat belts. I have purchased a set of rear lap belts from a 944 breaker. The donor car was a similar age and I have been advised that they will fit my car.

Can anyone give any advise as to whether these lap belts are easy to fit?

Thanks.

It's an easy enough job, can be a bit fiddly getting the bolts started in the threaded inserts in the body shell, but all up an easy job.

You can also buy 3-point belts that will fit - there's a mounting point on the pillar

Are you sure there's a high mounting point on an '86 car? You might be right, but I think that came in in the '87 or '88 year.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

not totally - there was one on my '86 924S though - but I know assumptions can be dangerous ;)

Cars without seat belts donot have the bracket fitted to the rear bulkhead, which provides the upper fixing for inertia reel belts, certainly Jon's 85/86 car doesn't. But its not a big job to remove from a salavge cars, as the bracket has 2/3 welds.

This bracket has the threaded insert which locates the belt reel.

Easy option is lap straps a la 911 SC's etc.
