Today I picked up a metal spike in the rear tyre of my Cayenne.
The tyre deflated completely as it seems to be some sort or irregular shaped object rather than a common old Nail !
I was in a Multi Storey car park when I noticed the flat tyre so no chances to limp to a local tyre specialist.
Having no spare wheel, I was resigned to read the handbook and use the tyre sealant. That bit was simple to understand; Remove valve core and squirt contents of plastic bottle into the tyre.
The next obstacle was how to inflate the tyre. I found a curley pipe thingey 'Underfloor' but no electrical compressor to connect it to. The pipe thigey was fitted with a small pressure gauge and air valve trigger. As last resort there was no option but to read the hand book again ! 'Vehicles with Air suspension' section gives good instructions on how to use the thingey. Remove blanking plug from lower section of drivers seat. Screw threaded section into hole and bingo, an instant air line !!!
I pumped the tyre up to 2.9 bar and drove home. My local OPC are collecting the car in the morning and fitting a new tyre.
The reason for this post is that it took me about an hour to figure out what was what and how to use the equipment provided. I only wish I had known what to do before I had the puncture, so if you have a Cayenne with air Suspension you have been advised !
