Flashing dashboard lights

Early the other morning, after negotiating a large roundabout at a fair speed, the 'abs' and 'battery' warning lights at the bottom of the dash flashed on and off slowly 9about 1s on 1s off) for a mile or so. Then went off, never to be seen flashing again in the 250 mile journey I was making. At the time, it was dark and I had lights on, but everything else behaved normally on the car during this 'incident'.

Anyone seen that before, any ideas what caused it ?

Thanks... I had the feeling that it must be an unusual 'one-off' ... especialy as richard didn't have _the_ answer within 3 hours ;-)
