Hi
Having not used the car since boxing day due to the horrendous weather, the (new) battery was totally flat. I have a Solar powered trickle charger which appears to be useless (yes I checked the cig lighter is still live when the ignition is off). So, I opened the bonnet to put the battery charger on and as soon as I opened the bonnet the alarm started blaring. It would not deactivate with the key, I tried the key in the ignition set to the first position, no good, alarm still going off and then going off again on a continuous loop. When I got the car started and backed it out of the garage the alarm went off again with the engine running!
So is there a correct sequence to follow to prevent the alarm going off in cases of a flat battery and to keep the peace with my neighbours??
Thanks
