Brought the pride and joy out...for a clean...worked my socks off cleaning it etc....

However..paintwork looks alittle flat any suggestions for a perk up?...... the paintwork !!!!

Depending on your level of experience you could mop the entire car, or get some polish and a bit of elbow grease and that should lift the paint as you will be taking a very small layer off.

Treat the car to a professional detailing. This will give you a good basis for keeping the car looking A1 all the time.
Ask people in your region who they use.

Cheers,

Put a whole day aside (pick a warm one). Do the Zymol thing (starter pack + Lem Clay & Lem Lube). I was delighted, gets rid of fine scratches, rail dust, tar etc. Cost about £100. [;)]

P.S. Only move your hands in straight lines (worth reading instructions first)

Mequiars 3 step could be for you, Its so easy to use and the 3 step system will bring it up like new.

Step 1, Deep Crystal paint cleaner. £7.99
Step 2, Deep Crystal polish. £7.99
Step3, Deep crystal carnuba wax. £7.99.

Also use there gold class shampoo, It makes washing the car much more tolerable.

I have also used zymol in the past and still do on the odd ocasion but, to get the car looking vibrant again this is a very easy solution coupled with great results at a good price. www.meguiars.co.uk

it's probably because the old polish is full of dirt... hard to clean off.
I'd use a G3 Hand Glaze to take off the old polish first, and a matching cloth, otherwise you're just putting more new polish on top of old.

The do the Meguire's bit.
