Flat Tyre on a Saturday Night :-(

Sod's Law! Flat tyre on the 997 C2 the night before a Pistonheads Run []

Can't find any 24 hour tyre repair services in the Milton Keynes area and had two questions....

1) Does anyone out there know of such a service?

2) Will using the sealant for a temporary fix to get the car to a type place tomorrow morning create any problems with fixing the puncture?

Thoughts much appreciated [:)]

Thanks,

Ravi

In my experience the tyre weld can will effect an emergency repair but be warned it will render the tyre useless, it can't be repaired permanently.

+1 on that. Plus two other things, if you have TPMS the transducer will also be ruined and a Porsche tyre should never be repaired.

I know this is the official OPC line but I think it is just the usual OPC conservatism. A properly done tyre repair should be fine, even on an n-rated tyre. There is a bloke on pistonheads who set the British standard and the subject has been done to death on there. Hope you manage to find somewhere

Thanks all.

I'm going to take the tyre off and take it to a local repair centre to see if anything can be done.

Of course, having no jack in the car does not help []

BTW, nickf, I went along to the Pistonheads Run (organised with the Dovehouse Motor Co) this morning and managed to get a passenger ride in the lead car....a Guards Red Gen II C4S PDK!

Nice car [:D]

tyre repairs are fine as long as its 1inch from the main wall.
a garage will sign that off as safe.
