Fluid Leak After Lack of Use...

My old trackday car has been parked outside since July last year. I moved it into the garage last week without starting - the car was pulled back using a tow rope and then pushed forward and the steering shunted.

Tonight I noticed a 12" square wet patch on the garage floor under the offside front corner. It drips down missing the helical cooler, it covers the bracket for the PU and then ends up on the floor. Im presuming that it is PS fluid (and I have my own idea), but Id be extremely interested to hear others ideas as to why a previously dry car has started to leak?

Seals have dried out and cracked causing the leak, though my cars do not get used in the winter months i am a firm believer in regular use for maintainability(is that a word ?)

Same thing happened to me Simon. On mine it literally poured coolant out from around the oil filter housing when Barry re-filled it. Last year before stripping the engine was perfect no coolant or oil loss. I spoke to Kev Eacock about this, he knew straight away where I was loosing coolant as he has seen it a few times before. He also said you really can't leave these engines for more then a couple of months, for the reasons as Frenchy says. Its also one of the things that would always put me off buying a S/H engine that has been sat around, always better to buy a scraper for that purpose.
