This event has been described to me as better than last night at the proms at the Royal Albert Hall. Why? Read on:- Well just imagine you are attending the last night at the Proms at the Royal Albert Hall. Union Jack in hand waving as the fifty piece orchestra are belting out Land of Hope and Glory. The roof of the Royal Albert Hall was to open and a flying display of rare and historic aircraft headed by a Spitfire flew above in time to the music! Get the picture? Well this could be you at the Shuttleworth collection Proms night. Tickets are limited so you may well not get in on the night even though they have a capacity of 5000! I have negotiated to have the Club Gazebo on site as a focal meeting point for members. So its come dressed as you wish,Black tie, fancy, military, or smart casual. So get the Hamper out, put the bubbly on ice and join us for a great night of patriotic nostalgia in the Bedfordshire country side at this superb venue.
I have since discovered that if you purchase a ticket your evening ticket gives you full access to the Shuttleworth collection for the whole day.
So you can turn up on Saturday morning (gates open at ten) of the Proms and enjoy the following. The Swiss gardens. Then its onto the Historic Aircraft,Cars Motorcycles and Carriages. A world famous collection of aircraft are housed within eight hangers. Aircraft from the Bleriot through to the Spitfire. Moving on to the Bird of Prey Center and Owl Sanctuary. This is the UK largest Bird of Prey Center with over 300 birds. You may also be able to see a flying display and take a ride in a vintage aircraft. If you have children take them along to the Jubilee Play area where you will find an exciting range of Play equipment for them to enjoy. Then its the Big event the PROMS so don't forget to bring your Union Jack! The evening ends with a superb firework display. Other Regions please feel welcome to join us.
