Fog light Relay

Does this Run anything else...As my fog lights aren't working..having Changed Fuses Looked at bulbs...must it Be the relay?

IIRC they use the same relay; the front fogs have to be on before the rears will come on. I can dig out the wiring diagram and check. What year is your car?

Just looked at the wiring diagram and it's fairly straightforward. The relay controls both front and rear lights but oviously has different switches within. Have you tested the actual switching of the relay, on all contacts, or just listened for a click?

If the relay definately is OK it must be a wiring or bulb fault. Unless it's been properly tested, my money would still be on the relay.

Yes,
I just listened to the Click...I have founnd a Relay at Maplins for £6..it's worth buying before I turn my wires into spag bol!..The filament is intact..Could it still be the bulbs?
Thanks for the Info .....

"A" relay? You do know there are many different types? Are you sure the pin-outs are the same? Looking again, the '88 model can have two relays, G12 and G11 for foglights - do you have one or two relays?

Erm...Without sounding dumb..I don't Know...I'm sure there is one For the front as the rears still work without the relay....
As for the Maplin Relay I just looked for the four Prong..12V 40a...Although I was Planning on Taking the Old one in....An Electrician Friend tested the relay..then told me to Go to Maplins....

I'm Convinced that it's the Bulbs as...There is a relay the Same in the heated rear screen...and the relay works for the screen but the screen relay still isn't lighting up the fogs.....
PS; I have 924S, ......

Is it square dash and have they ever worked? never had one but I vaguely remember some posts about there being a switch in the centre console area for the auxilary driving lights,
Tony

There is Just the One switch which turns on Both Front and rears on Centre Console...I'm buying some Bulbs today...
I've had the Car 4 mths...Never tried them in that Time, I've emailed the chap I bought it Off..(Pretty decent chap too!) asking if they worked in his 3 years ownership.....
Why is it the little niggles Annoy the Most!

Are you sure you're not mixing fog lights with auxiliary driving lights - i.e. those that come on in conjunction with the main beam? It is not legal to have front and rear fog lights where rears come on as soon as you switch on the fronts.
