Fog Lights HELP!!!

Guest

New member
Since i brought the car the fog lights have not worked but i have left them due to thinking it was just the bulbs and not wanting to thread the screws and change the bulbs but now its time to get them working.

The car is a 944 LUX with the face lift body work (One of first to have it).

The Switch doesn't light up on first click? It lights up on the second click for the rear ones?

This is the Fog Light to give you an idea on the correct style.

Before i went and brought new bulbs i checked under the car to make sure the wires are there and they are.

As i took the cover off to get the bulb out i threaded all the screws (Shock) and also the cable on the left was completely off and rusted up.

Iv brought 2 new bulbs and tried them in and have cut the bottom off the rusty cable so that it is connected but still nothing?

Can anyone help or shed some light (Ironic) on the subject please?

Thx

I don't know how the early dash switches work but yours looks to be upside down [&:] making me think the switch has been out at some point. It could be worth checking behind there.

<pedant on> the smoke on your cigar lighter is going the wrong way too [;)] <pedant off>

The pic doesn;t show it very well but its Pushed "IN" on the right... so its OFF. and to turn the switch ON you press the Graphic side so LEFT. There is a little orange light that comes on when you turn the REAR lamps on (2 Clicks down) Does anyone have a 944 and can go and check for me please to see if the front ones come on with ONE click and the orange light also appears on the FIRST click and not just the SECOND.

Sorry if iv confused anyone... [8D]

Thanks [;)]

Just a quick update:

Have got nearside fog lamp working now which is good!

Iv brought a voltmeter home to try and work out there the power is lost or connection faulty.

If all else fails linking to the working side would solve the problem but would like to sort it out using the propper method really.

I think Diver was saying the beams should point down for fog lights not up in the air dazzling people, as the 924 dash is similar maybe they can help over there if no one here knows. The voltmeter should give some good clues though.
