Fog lights

Should the fog light(s) at the back light up on both sides of the no plate or just the R?
I was sitting watching mine go though MOT (passed first time, no advisories - hurrah) and I noticed it light up on the R but where there seems to be space and similar shaped light on the L there was nothing.
Now lots of cars only have 1 rear fog and it that's correct what's the other side for as everything else seems to be accounted for.
 
David - mine did exactly the same at the MOT last Friday. I assumed only the right hand side was supposed to illuminate.

Spooky. Yet to investigate but I did fix the broken central locking. Spent the vast sum of £1.70 at OPC Swindon for the plastic bit that always breaks. Are you going to Stock Gaylard BH weekend? We're doing Sunday.
 
Quite possibly we'll be there on Sunday. We have guests that weekend and will need "an outing" for Sunday. Hopefully it'll be sunny.
