Fog Lights

Ok rear fog's !!!!!!
Every car I get I aim to get both rears working, car manufactures these days save a bit of money by only having the legal (ONE) O/S light working.
Citroen's are all wired up and just need a bulb and a blanking plug removing from the N/S to get both working.

I was susprised to see a bulb and wiring to the N/S/R fog lamp of my Boxster but it doesn't work.

Before I start to trace the wiring is anyone aware of were I should start looking to get both fog's working ??????.

There is no wire I'm afraid.

I have heard of people hooking a new wire up to connect the two, but I don't have details at hand.
Sorry.

This is how we do it.

It's nothing to do with money it's a safety feature!

Hi John,
Sorry, it may be obvious but I don't get it, what is safe about having only O/S fog light? So it doesn't get confused as brakelight?

I would say that 85% of the driving public won't know a brake light from a fog light anyway. There's that big long thing across the boot anynow. The way I look at it, the more lights to the rear in bad weather or driving rain on a motorway that will stop some pratt from rear ending me the better.

Likewise, I suspect the same 85% don't realize they have there fog lights on when it's not even foggy[;)]

Hannu,
What are the chance of someone catching up with you, let alone hitting you, in a boxster S on the motorway? [:)]

On a serious note, leaving brakelights distinct is far more important I think; when driving in States I find the red rear indicator lights really distracting... At first glance it is like someone is braking intermittently...

In North America the special edition had red tail lights. Always thought it strange Porsche made a limited number of red tail lights for our market.

We can have amber or red turn signals.
