Fogging + Water Inside Head and Tail Lights

Hi guys,

I've got a 1991 928 S4 which is suffering from water ingress and fogging in both the front and back head and tail lights.

I have heard that this is quite a common problem.

All of the lights work fine, so don't really want to replace each unit, especially at Porsche Main dealer prices!

Has anyone managed to repair/reseal them and or does anyone know where I can get good quality pattern part lights ?

Thanks
Simon H

There's been a chap on Ebay trying to sell second hand 928 lights etc for a while - I see them when I search 968 as he reckons they'll fit a 968! Guess he's breaking a 928, but I think I first saw the parts a few months ago so he's not having much luck!

If the headlight units ARE the same as 968, then there's often units on Ebay at a variety of prices, normally of the order of £80-100 per headlight.

Edit - search Ebay for 928 headlight - there's a few!

I suspected as much but do not have access to your sources of info! The listings showed 928 parts (fits 968) on the search pages - I was looking at the headlight shrouds he was selling as one of mine is cracked - but the price he was asking, plus the necessary respray, was a bit rich.

However, just for fun I did a quick Ebay search "Porsscche 928 headlight" abd found quite a few available!

ORIGINAL: Waylander

the head lamp shrouds are not crazy expensive

£77.00

Add to that having it sprayed Tahoe Blue - and how often do I have the headlights up and the existing crack visible on my summer toy garage queen??? Herself tells me there are far more important things to spend £150 on - new coffee grinder, deep fat fryer, toastie maker - before she even thinks of shoes and handbags!! Wait 'till I tell her what it will cost to refurb the 17" AMG rims for "her" car (AKA the shopping trolley) and put new summer rubber on them - I'll be on MIL diet for a month!!
