Folding mirrors

Do the C4S and the 996 Turbo have folding wing-mirrors? Is it standard or is it an option?

Not sure if you mean electrically operated, but I can fold the wing mirros in on my C2 (I have to do this to fit it in my garage)

Electronic is preferred, but as long as they fold electronically or not thats the important thing. The reason I ask is because of the width of my garage.

Does anyone know the exact width of a 2003 C4S and a 2003 Turbo (with wing-mirrors out as normal). I checked www.carfolio.com which said 1830mm for a Turbo I wondered if that was right. Does it say in the 996 Turbo and 996 C4S brochure (if anyone has one).

If anyone has the brochures either scanned in or in PDF I'd really appreciate a copy.

They fold mechanically to the front or rear, as a safety feature in case something bumps into the mirrors.

When the mirror is in the normal position I measured about 11". When folded to the rear about 6". This is for just one mirror. So you would reduce the total width of the car by about 10" with both mirrors folded to the rear. Not a metric person so you have to do the conversion. Warning, my measurements were taken from the window glass, not the widest part of the car.

And you would have to be one skinny person to open the door to get out of the car if just 10" makes a difference.

It makes all the difference to me, lets just say that I learnt how to get out of my car by watching the Dukes of Hazzard. Ill post a picture at the weekend, to give you all a laugh [:D]

As promised, here's a picture of how much room I have to get out of my car in the garage. Ill be amazed if anyone fits their car in a narrower garage. [:D]
