Porsche944_10.JPG

For Sale due to personal circumstances is my much loved Porsche 944. In my ownership I have looked after this car with no expense spared and I can say the same for the previous owners. Full and complete service history by either an OPC or independent Porsche specialists (GT One in my ownership, Andy Moss in previous ownership) with all receipts. Last service in Jan / Feb 10 with GT One at approx 82k.
Details of the car as follows:

Engine and Gearbox:
2.7 8v Engine with fully documented 84k miles
Engine running on Mobil 1 15w50 fully synthetic oil with no oil loss between changes
Gearbox Oil change at approx 80k in my ownership with fully synthetic Mobil oil (had previous changes also which are documented)
Mechanically Standard - did have a K&N cone fitted but I removed this
Speed and Reference sensors changes at 83k due to bad misfire
Cam Belt all changed at approx 78k miles (10 months ago) "" and then re-checked and tensioned, previous changes also documented

Wheels, Suspension and Brakes:
MO30 Koni Suspension approx 10k miles ago (Jan 2009) with various bush renewals also
New front Springs and lowered rear also (unsure of spring make, but handles extremely well and certainly not crashy and harsh)
16" Cup 1 Alloys in what I would regard as very good condition
Very good Michelin Tyres with good tread left
Recent rear brakes re-build
New disks and pads all round with EBC Green Stuff pads
New handbrake button
Brake fluid changed at the last service

Exterior Body:
Baltic Blue
Very good external condition for age with no exterior rust
Rear valence fitted
New Halfords extreme head light bulbs fitted
New rear bulbs fitted "" bake, tail and reverse
Rear brake lines brushed and treated at last serviced

Interior:
Blue pinstripe with vinyl bolsters
Split style rear upper seat
Full electric driver's seat with part electric passenger seat
Climate style air conditioning which is nice and cold
Fully working removable electric sunroof
Electric mirrors
Slight wear to the drivers chair side bolster and a small rip in the upper seat back (repairable but not had this done)
Dash cracks on the dash top caused by heat - common problem
Pioneer head unit with 6 disc changer in the boot

I am sure I have missed something, so any questions please do ask. Happy for any viewings, but please bear in mind that I am not going to, nor can I afford to give this car away.

The car has just had a PCGB official market valuation of £5000

I am looking for a price of £4250 or a very good offer around this mark.

I'll put my head above the parapett. Thats looks like a very nicely thought out advert indeed, however 4,000 for a 2.7 in this day and age would be a minor record. Now several folk will come on and say but its such a good one its worth the money [8|]
( yes I know its lovely). I think your car is very impressive indeed and if its as per the ad it is an example to be proud of. I would be proud to own it.

Best of luck

Mas

Hi Mas,

Appreciate the honesty re the price... I too did wonder if I was too optimistic! on the other hand as you say - its such a nice one - it really is all and more the add prevails.

Thx

Very good advert and a very, very nice car ! I am inclined to agree that its a very strong asking price but if you dont ask you will never get ! You may have to exercise alot of patience to achieve that sort of sale price on a Lux but it would be great if you did for all of us !

Very nice car and good ad too, however, for any internal photos I would make sure the steering wheel is level, ie the wheels are facing dead straight ahead, and also why mention the K&N filter now that the car is mechanically standard? there's no need to mention it !

Good luck too.

Good point - not sure why I mentioned the K&N - I guess if anyone had seen the car before.... Might just remove tho..

Thx all for the tips...

Still in a dilemma about the price - lol

It's possible to get top price for a top car. I'd want to see internal pictures of the sills, and close-up pics of the wing bottoms for example, to prove how much better than most the bodywork is. Other than that, I'd hold out for a good offer as the car looks, from your description, well above average.

You might get lucky. I paid top whack for my '88 2.5 lux 16 months ago and i've no regrets. If I was still looking I'd certainly consider yours as it looks stunning. Good luck!

Thanks for the comments Paul. Great suggestion re the pics of the sills..

I have just been talking to the wife and even she says that if the car wont get what it rightly deserves, maybe we should look at keeping her after all (and that's coming from the wife!).

All food for thought... what really made me think today was when my Son's friends dad came over to pick my son up as he was staying over - he said that that Porsche really does look so stunning, they just dont make cars look like that anymore...
- I had just given her a wash..

I'd put it on for £12K, if you don't get full asking then keep it. [;)]

LIKE IT! [;)]

I dont think £4000 is way to much for such a nice example of what is one the the rarest 944's and def the best lux out there, didn't the club just value the same car at £5000? Otherwise whats the point of the valuation? Ant, if the right buyer comes along he will bite your right arm off for that car, if I had a spare £4000 I'd be seriously tempted too...

Edd

Yes it is important that we don't talk down the market value of our cars. I think that there may well be buyers in the market for a £4000 Lux of the quality of Ants but there may not be many hence my comment that patience might well be required. Mr Average Joe punter will more than likely look at the prices of Luxs on PH and other sites and think £4000 is too high and be more likely to be drawn to the cheaper end of the S2 and Turbo markets instead. That of course would be a mistake but you can't legislate for such general levels of ignorance sadly.

With regard to the photos, can you not photoshop the Red wastebin in the first, and the dog walker and lady on Bench with pushchair in the second?

These additions seem to spoil excellent photos for me.

RIGHT - GUESS WHAT!!?????

She is now NOT for sale!!! You have no idea how happy I am and how much I am so pleased to say this.. but we have worked the car into our personal circumstance that initially was going to warrant selling her!

I'm releaved... releaved that I am keeping what I think (yeah I'm biased) is one of the best 2.7's I have seen, and releaved that I can stay a what is BRILLIANT all round car owner.

Result !!!!! [:)][:)][:)]

Excellent news Ant, it would have been such a shame for you to have had to give her up at any price.

of course however - thanks guys for the tips and nice comments around the car and advert when I was looking to sell her... fantastic bunch of guys (and gals) you all are [:)]
