France trip!

Well just back from a week in France with my wife and 5 year old accompanying! 1800 miles and £550 ish pound of fuel and the old girl didn't miss a beat! The journey reminded me of exactly why I bought this car some 10 years ago as it is a total pleasure to drive and never lets me down! Glad I had a re- gas before I left though as it was bloody boiling!

Hi mike,

Those wonderful french roads must let you see and feel what the car is truly capable of. No potholes and little traffic.

I haven't had the pleasure yet, but am hoping to next year on a trip to the Le Mans classic.

Lucky boy

regards

Unfortunately, the area we were in, just North of Cognac in a rural location, although fantastic, the roads were very poor, not so much pot holes, but very bumpy, especially with my new Bilstein dampers with H&R springs!!! However around le-mans where I visited about 7 years ago, all the roads were excellent, even the rural ones! As a note of caution, don't be tempted to open yours up on the excellent toll roads which are empty and in tip top condition as the local police have been known to examine tickets on the exit tolls and work out your average speed due to the time stamp on the entry toll!!! Unlikely but it has been know ! Hope you enjoy your trip!

As posted elsewhere, finally doing 6 days in France .. near Angouleme, via Le Mans (yes I know the race is over !)

cheers, Maurice

We visited there to do a shop, we were based at La Touche. Fuel prices are a bit scarey, anywhere from 1.48 to 1.70 euro/ ltr!!! Enjoy Maurice!
