This is my car ,it's a 1978 911sc targa , it's got a 1983 engine, badged as a turbo with fibreglass turbo wheel arch flairs at the rear but good steel front wings , the number plate would like you to think it's a 964?
I didn't go looking for this ride it found me and after spending two years under it rebuilding the engine ,box and brakes ( Wayne Dempsey writes a great book ) I'm finally driving it and it's really growing on me , and so is the turbo look, my plan has been to get it mechanically right ,enjoy it for a couple of years while saving up, And then sort the body out returning it to stock , but as the fat ass look grows on me ( I had the Athena poster) and my realisation that if I keep this look I will only have to change the rear quarters , I'm now undecided . What would you do? Is the finished car going to be worth less if it's not stock ? It seems some recreations are accepted while others are frowned upon . I don't intend selling any time soon but don't like the idea of working hard on the car and making it worth less
Any input would be gratefully received Bob

I wouldn't worry too much about the value. There's plenty of buyers out there (like me when I bought mine) who don't know enough to give a monkey's about originality. I still don't actually. [:)]

Thanks guys
That's pretty much what I thought, I had been thinking that porsche club members (I've just joined ) would be horrified by the FrankenPorsche.
Flat6buster. Maybe one day , but for now I think I'd rather have £2k in the glove box

A fair point, bankjobbob, I just thought you must be sitting on a swag bag of cash bearing in mind your username....!
