Free online car magazine

One of my friends, has just released the inaugural copy of a new online car magazine called Motorpunk.

I may be "slightly" biased as he's the guy that arranges the Car Club 18-30 trips I go on but it is very entertaining and extremely professionally presented even if he does drive a 968.

I'm sure that he'd appreciate you guys having a read and sharing the link through colleagues or FB if you like what you see.

Have a read at www.motorpunk.co.uk and post up your comments here, I'll make sure that he sees them.

Does it have a flux capacitor? I bet that it does - Ive never seen one of the damned things without one...

He does have a sense of humour, he'd like the write up. His DMC whilst not concours is close to it and is stock through and through (it would be concours but he does the right thing and drives it - no flux capacitors near it. They're actually pretty cool cars, not my cup of tea but unique nonetheless.

Ummmm, I thought it was pretty boring - I read it all in less than 5 seconds, and it failed to hold my attention beyond then.

Has hell frozen over Oli, we agree on something! Can anyone spell sensational diatribe, in my opinion, but as you now know I am an old git and this does not float HMS sense of humour.

Ah, it works for me!

So my thoughts ... lots of content, but it seems to be quite a lot of 'filler' - both adverts and fluff in the articles. I'm not sure why he has chosen the magazine analogue to lay it out on screen; the appearance of a magazine and the page-turning animations are all very well when you genuinely have a pile of paper in your lap, but it simply doesn't work on screen. The world of the internet works on a different type of 'page' for a reason.

So ... interesting. But I do actually stand by my original opinion; it's something that didn't grab my attention and I think I'm not a fan. HOWEVER, if it is a first attempt then it is very good and I'd be very interested in watching it - I think it has potential galore.

We disagree a lot do we? Hmm, I'm not sure I agree with you there ... [;)]

Actually, your posts on here always strike me as being very well worth reading (unlike PunkyCars or whatever it's called) and I usually agree pretty wholeheartedly with what you have to say ... and when I have thought of a suitable reply to your comment on Giles's brakes then I'l put that up as well!

Thanks Oli, he genuinely finds all feedback to be useful.

I can add that it is issue 1 of attempt number 1 and has grown out of the odd article he's written for PPC and the s2b2 website.

I've just signed up here to peruse info on 968s and found this thread about my mag, thanks for the kind comments and feedback ! We're on issue 3 now and have been pleasantly surprised with the reaction and take-up. Not much Porsche content, yet, but we'll get there. Thanks again :)

Is there no enclave of the internet left for me to hide from Mr Duisberg.

He's probably trying to find out how to make his 968 go as fast as a 944T ;)

He is on a hiding to nothing.

But: provided that he isnt listening to the Johnny-cum-lately Clubsport-fawning-over pedestal-placing myth-makers on PHs Porsche sub-forum then I dont mind.

)

Just clicked the link and I look forward to reading it later. Thanks for the heads up. [:)]

First thing I did notice though is 'Tomcat' has a glaring typo on the 'In this issue' piece to the right of the front cover. [&:]

Whenever correcting others' spelling on the internet, always check, check and then check again! [:D]
