Free track time this weekend - Ingliston

Just had a call from Iain Griffiths and he asked me to post this. We have some free track time for you people if you want this weekend at Ingliston Circuit, Edinburgh. Full days both saturday and sunday 9.30am - 4pm. You can do either or both.

What's the catch? Only very slight....

It's for charity. The deal goes like this:
There is a classic and sports car show on there this weekend:
http://www.scottishclassicperformance.co.uk/home.html

So people will pay £10 for a couple of laps in your passenger seat - £5 goes to the charity, £5 goes to yourself (for fuel, wear/tear costs). You can go as fast/slow as you like.

The charity is the Edinburgh Sick Childrens Hospital.

If you are interested, turn up at 9.30 at the bottom entry gate. Ask for Matt Nichols of the Classic Car Club, and say to the marshalls you are doing the passenger rides for charity and they will direct you.

So apart from having a passenger, you get some free hoonage round a circuit which is rarely available for track days.

Looking for about 6 cars, so please post up if you intend to go - but even if you don't if you want to post, just turn up.

I am working this Sat morning..can I do the Sunday,or is it all booked up by now,can someone let me know.

brian - no problem, just turn up!

Might come along and pay for a ride with you brian - although I thought you usually charge more than £10 [;)]

I promised Ian that I'd turn up one of the days and as I'm only just awake it looks like tomorrow. Is this place an airfield or a proper track & has it got wide run off areas!?

It is a proper track, but it's been 20 years since I was there, so don't know what condition it is in.

Ricardo

I do not thing the run off areas are big enough for your style of driving[:D]...rember it is in aid of the Sick Childrens Hospital, the object is to keep children out of hospital, not put them in it[:D][:D]

Very good Brian! When you've finished your RO role perhaps u can take up comedy script writing for Channel 5[;)].

Incidentally, rather embarrased that it turns out membership had lapsed 3 months ago, but I've rejoined and boosted your honourary patronage.

knew there was something on,,, but thought it was a free day for the people who had attended the SUN thing at knockhill....

would have came along had I know i could get car on track earlier..

cheers anyway
scottie....

David is just back from the show ,and it was not very good, not much to do .The highlight was the track laps.I did not go as some thing else turned up ,but I don't think I missed much....Ricardo did you stay on the black stuff?

Actually, I had quite a nice day AND managed not to lose it. Although the "track" was short it was interesting in parts, especially the uphill esses. Driving through trees, buildingS & cashpoints added a bit of the Targa Floria to it!

Although am was quiet it livened up in afternoon and I think the organisor (derek/Matt?) raised a few £. Had a great pm dicing with a black 550 that some of you might know (Colin?). Quick on the straights & I'd like to say slow into corners until he overtook me in a do or die move - fair play, or "chwarie taig" as we say in Welsh.

I also went out in a certain David's car whose Dad is reputed to drive a 993 - give him the 993 Brian or I;m going to have to let him out in mine shortly! He drive well.

Ricardo

What a nice man you are offering my David a drive round the track in your car ..are you mad...All the guys in the club keep telling me give the lad the keys, but they are not as quick in offering him their car .He has driven my car round KN before, but I was in the passenger seat and he was ok .I was more nervous than he was .Glad you enjoyed the day.

Cheers
