Freezing Windows

OK - here's the next stupid question. How do you get into a 996 on a morning like today with the windows frozen solid (ie when the windows can't drop to open the door)? This morning I just forced it, but then the door wouldn't close again for about 10 minutes until all had thawed out. It doesn't look like it'll do too much damage just yanking it open, but it won't do the rubber seals on the door frame much good in the long term.

I don't like the idea generally of pouring warm water all over the place - what do you do?

A little spray of window de-icer? [8|]Have you tried the 'night before' de-icer? [:-]A bit of vaseline on the door seals?[;)] A garage?[:D]

Like everyone else Thursday night's ice caught me by surprise so I didn't even have a scraper to hand. Garage - I wish - but that would require buying a garden shed to decant contents of garage into. Deicer - but isn't that less than good for paintwork? Night before deicer - maybe give that a try. Vaseline? - interesting?

Thanks mate for reminding me a trip to Halfords is needed this weekend
