A good friend of Ali's is looking at buying this car off his friend, wants some opinion on whether price is reasonable, and what the repairs, particularly a replacement hood will cost.
1991 964 Cabrio, black, 2 owners, 72,000 miles
Full service history latterly through Autostrasse in Essex, last service was only minor
The front bumper needs to be resprayed as scraped and the rear boot lid has a small rust patch
The main cost would be hood as frayed and the rear window is starting to crack

Finally, can anyone recommend someone to inspect the car - based in Essex/East London area

Thtis chap will be most greatful and a new Club member if he purchases [:)][FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Replacement cost for my 993 hood is £1200 fitted at Southbound Trimmers

The 964 hood may be cheaper as it is in two parts? I had just the rear window part of my 3.2 Cab hood replaced for approx £400

A 944 hood is about £1k, so I'd have thought the £1k to £1,200 range is about right.

Dunno on value as I wasn't looking for a cab, but they didn't seem to command any more than coupes a month or so ago from the ones I happened to see. That being the case the price sounds about right assuming RHD, nice leather and no nasties anywhere.

Nic, whereabouts is the car? If close there maybe one or two of us who could give our opinions.....strictly as a addition to the usual PPI of course.

Nic I would suggest the price of the car your looking at is a fair bit overpriced. As the guy above proves. Sounds like the car needs maybe 2-3k's worth of work doing. I would offer accordingly.
