Front Badge Gasket

OK, it should be simple enough... has anyone any suggestions of an easy way of getting the gasket neatly around the badge on the front panel?

I also need to know if the gasket is available seperately from the badge, as I have just split mine trying[:(]

Use an old inner tube. After making the necessary holes super glue it the the back of the badge.
When dry trim it with a craft knife or sharp scissors.
Job done. No cost.

Definitely superglue onto back of badge. I don't have strong enough hands to do it but my brother does, last time round he didn't glue it and instead somehow managed to get it to fit nicely around the badge whilst putting the badge onto the panel. I say somehow because without 4 or 5 pairs of hands I can't see how you can do it. Having said all that I still have the brand new badge mit gasket sat in a drawer in the kitchen.

I know it can be done... and have done it a couple of times previously - this is the first I have split. It is just that it takes ages... I'll bet they don't spend that long putting them on new cars in the factory, so guessed there must be some trick... be it heating up, or putting together on a sheet of paper then sliding the paper out when in place. It may well indeed be superglue for the next attempt... if that splits - inner tube it will be!

Just drop it in a glass of hot water for a few minutes. Makes it all stretchy and easy to fit while you push the badge into place.

Simples! [:)]

Well the gasket is £3.51 from Porsche Centre Bournemouth, so I can afford to have another go!
