Front Boot

During the winter, I've found it increasingly difficult to shut the front boot lid on my 2002 996 C2 Targa. The lid settles on the seal but is taking increasing pressure for the latch to engage - I had real difficulty today to make it shut properly. I'm presuming it's an adjustment thing with the striker and latch, so I'll have a look this weekend. Can anyone give me any advice on making the adjustment?

The plastic cover comes off easily enough, with a couple of 1/4 turn fasteners. When you get it off it is all fairly obvious. The latch is held with a couple of M6 screws (10mm spanner) which are in slots in the body. Mark the position with a pen before you start, so you can see how far you have moved it.

The rubber buffers on the corners of the bonnet can come undone slightly too making it progressively harder to shut the bonnet. Simply screw them back in slightly......this happened to me but luckily I spotted it before attempting to mess around with the striker plate etc...
