Front Brake Discs and Pads

Hello !

I have a 2.7 2000 Boxster which needs new discs. Pads were replaced a a while back and have 50% wear. I spoke to by local garage that they could fit OE equivalent parts being Bosch including front discs and pads for £280 ? Has anyone had experience of Bosch parts ? PH Sportcars in Shardlow a good specialist round here quoted £330 for OE parts but wouldn;t give a brand name. Any anecdotal feedback valued. Kind regards Paul Lowe

I've had Bosch discs on another car and they were fine, but maybe a different proposition on a Boxster.

Normal 'OE' quality brands are Sebro (painted hubs), or Zimmermann (non painted hubs). More recently Pagid seem to be an option via Eurocarparts.

Plenty of parts suppliers, marque21, design911,porscheshop etc etc

£280 fitted seems pretty reasonable to me - less than half what OPC would charge and probably only charging you £100 for the fitting.

I'd recommend new caliper bolts and wear sensors too - these aren't expensive items, even sourcing from OPC parts desk.

The parts alone are £135&VAT minimum

£280 inc VAT, not bad

just done a full front/ rear disc pads and sensor change myself
cost for fronts are as stated £135 (design911), these are sebro/taxtar combi which i believe are oem.
i have done a thread on another page as i believe they are easy to fit yourself but given an hour for fitting with vat £280 is about right

Picked up some caliper bolts from OPC cheap at £2.70 each so I will change them. Thanks for the advice appreciated. Still not decided which discs to go with but will sort next week. Cheers

hi
i would change the pads too as your at it as they tend to 'mold' to the discs
cant go wrong imo with the design911 pack with the sebro/textar combi for the price
