hi
just bought a 1992 C2, gave it a good wash today, took wheels off to jet wash under the arches and noticed that my car has what looks to me like adjustable spring platforms, is this standard fitment to the later models or has it been modded by a previous owner, i'll try and insert a pic.
cheers

I'm still in the learning stages of 964s but I would say they look like the original struts (made by Boge). Each strut needs to be adjustable to set the ride height. But they're not so adjustable that you can do the job in minutes i.e. they're not like some of the modern sports dampers.

If I'm wrong, someone more expert will correct me[8D]

Steve - you're right.

The standard dampers have the ride height adjustment - right from the initial cars in 1989.

Dave

Call me old fashioned but I thought that the adjustment range limited your ability to adjust the actual ride height (effectively to a matter of millimetres) and still allow enough residual adjustment to address corner weighting?

If I understand it correctly (and am happily corrected) the idea of corner weighting (if setting it to be neutral like most road cars) is to adjust each suspension leg so that the apparent weigh of the left hand wheel matched that of the right hand front wheel on each axle.

So on the front the heaviest side is the left when viewed from the drivers' seat (due to the battery location) so the suspension leg on the left is adjusted to be shorter than that on the right so that the apparent corner weight (i.e. measure by scales under each wheel) is as close to being identical as possible.

Or am I talking hog wash?
