My turbo 4's making a loud whining noise as im traveling over 30mph. like a bearing noise.
Ive been told by porsche centre cambridge and another mechanic that it sounds like my front diferential is in need of some attension. Porsche centre cambridge say,You need a new front differetial Mr Rogers, I say eat me.[:'(] A couple of members have said to use JZM, as they can recondition it, but has anyone had a similar problem? All advice is well apreciated.[;)]

Sounds like a typical dealer response [] IMHO, I don't think they have the capabilities to repair anymore. Their preference is to replace an entire unit, an experience I've had three times now with my Jeep diff. The problem could be something as simple as a side bearing losing it's coating which isn't exactly the biggest thing in the world and certainly doesn't require a new diff!

Take it to an indie or as an alternative, someone that makes a living from gearboxes and differentials. I think people can sometimes lose sight of the fact that a differential is a differential and a starter motor is a starter motor - they might be fitted to a Porsche, but it doesn't mean there aren't very talented people outside of Porsche circles that can work on them.
