Front Disc's and Pads

Anyone used front discs and pads from GS&F

£160 + vat, which is very reasonable.

The car currently has texar pads on, and I think origonal from new porsche discs (57,000) if that is possible.

Brakes seem fine once you have some heat into them. But they now need changing, discs a bit warped and pads, low.

I do track the car so, any feedback would be useful.

I used the Sebro disks from eurocarparts.com, and Textar pads, which I understand are both the same as the OEM parts. Disks were £58 each, and pads £55/set.

Thanks Richard,

Are they any good for track use, as I am addicted the the nurburg ring and going for the third time this year at the end of the month.[;)]

The discs tend to get quite hot, my friends M5 has acually seen small cracks appear between the drilled holes, which is not good.

No idea about track use, I'm afraid, but they shouldn't be any different to standard disks. Maybe you should consider something like Pagid Fast Road pads if you do a lot of track days.

When I went in personally to Eurocarparts a few weeks back they told me to get the OEM disks and Textar pads and definately not to get the Sebro as they were inferior. They said the Textars were very good tho.
Maybe they would say that tho as the OEMs were around £80+ (with discount)

I put their discs and pads on my car a while back and I have to say they were superb.

Porsche wanted 1700 pounds to change them all and I just laughed at them!

I got the stuff fitted by a local garage and then took the car to the Ring for a hard weekend.

the brakes were fine, bite was spot on and they did not fade. the ring is not especially hard on brakes as you get lots of time and straights to cool them off so maybe a slightly harder and hotter rated pad like the DS2500 or RS19 would be better if you were doing shorter tracks.

plus the owner got some new brakes and discs all round so it was happy faces all round.

I think you will be fine with the brakes from German and Swedish plus you will save a lot more money!!

go for it!
