Hi,

Has anyone replaced the front disks on their Cayman..?? I've done a quick search on the web and you can pay anything from £60/pair up to several hundred pounds. Is there a make/price you'd recommend..??

Cheers,

John.

Hi John, I moved this to the discussion area but the answer to your question is that it is best to get the OEM parts, however these are not only available through Porsche but also several other outlets Eurocarparts or GSF are the main places although if you can get OEM parts from elsewhere cheaper then OEM is generally considered the best way to go but it is difficult to beat the prices of those two, their delivery is usually quick too. There has been a discussion before elsewhere on the forum about who makes the originals but I can't remember the company name. There are upgraded items available but harder pads are really only for track use and become noisy on the road and since they don't get as hot as on the track in my view have no advantage for the road. I hope this is of help.

I bought a pair of OEM front discs from design911.com for about £50 each. Arrived in Pagid boxes and just as good as the Porsche ones that are about three times the price.
