Hi John

That looks so much better. Especially the back. Nice to see the rear parking sensors matching.

Good job

Mike.

I've also had the split-rim wheels done but will post pictures another day as thes have taken all night to work out!!

Bye for now

John

Oh all right - last picture
Here's one wheel before refurb.
There is bad corrosion where they split
The after photo isn't too good so will take another one and post later

Only thing is, went out for a run over the weekend and a couple of stone chips already!!

John
I have seen people driving around with what i think is called a 'car bra' which i guess is to avoid stone chips. Maybe its possibly to get a colour coded one and leave it on?

How much did the front end respray cost. I am considering the same sort of thing on mine?

The bonnet was £150 and the bumper was £125 (or it could be the other way round)
I bought the grill mesh fom Halfords for £24 and used the old black ones (which I fitted last year) as a template.
The wheels cost around £110 each (would have been £60 for non-split rims) as they had to be sand blasted first.
In total I paid £780 and that included having the sensors done and the grills meshes replaced
I thought that was a bargain
It was done at Raw Wheels in Fulford, York

Wow, I feel ashamed. Mind you, mine looks good in the dark, which it has been for ever!! Congrats - you'll not want that yellow 997 now!

Paul.

Oh, I don't know Paul. I think I've added a couple of thousand to the resale value!!
Just need a buyer now and sell Jane's Boxster and I might have enough.
Or I could get Daniel to leave college and get a job!!

Why bother fitting something that looks awful, when you can get 3M stone protection film fitted that's nigh-on invisible? I'd have thought the cost was pretty comparable. [8|]
