front indicator not working

hi guys,
cleaned the car today (sorry, no pics, but, i will.....honest!!) and i went to halfrauds for a replacement bulb to replace the non working nearside front indicator, put it in and nowt! side repeater and rear indicator fine, so i dont think it could be a fuse issue? so what else can it be?

cars come up fantastic after a good wash with a 3 stage paint cleaner/polish and wax. only 3 bits of blemish on the paint, one on the bottom edge of the boot lid, one on the rear quarter which looks like a trolley scrape and a teeny tiny bit of rust on the bottom of the drivers door, about 1/2 penny in size. other than that, the usual stone chips on the front panel, and thats it!!!

took it out for a spin after, and well, I LOVE MY 944!! it is absolutely fan-bloody-tastic!! [:)] [:)] [:)] [:)] [:)] [:)]

cheers,

Al. [:D]

Check the bunch of earth wires in the engine compartment lower n/side at the front. I had a similar issue on my o/side indicator and eventually tracked it back to this earthing point, slackened the bolt by 1/2 a turn wiggled the wires around then retightened the bolt and problem solved.

thanks guys [:)]

i'll check the earths, the fuse and the contacts and put another bulb in.
failing that, i'll get the relay checked out and see if that helps.

came to work this morning, and the indicator is working!!!

the only thing i can think of why it didnt was it was on a trailer on thu last and it was persisting down for the 6 hours on the way up,
so i think the front got soaked and now its dryed out.

the saga continues............

on the way home, the indicator stopped working BUT ithere are a few pot-holed roads around here and i think!! its just a connector or dirty contact as when i went over the bumpy stuff whilst indicating the indicator went off!!!

something to sort at the weekend if i have time.

I had this on my front n/s indicator. It turned out to be dirty contacts in the sockets. clean it out with very fine grit-paper and WD40. make sure that the bulb makes good, solid contact with the central connection pin at the base of the socket - if not if will dislodge on bumpy roads.
