Front leveling rod? Other issues?

Hi,

recently had a 10,000 mile oil change and full vehicle check at an independent. This is standard after a rebuild on my 2006 997 and is necessary for the engine warranty.

A few minor points came up for advisories one of which is

"front levelling rod seized"

what exactly is is a front levelling rod?

Theres also a comment that "coolant low, coolant pipes alongside gear box very corroded and leaking"

This is apparently an engine out to get to the pipes. I don't understand why after an engine rebuild the coolant system wasn't checked thoroughly and any remedial work carried out before the engine was fitted back into the vehicle. What's the point of fitting a new engine with a possible leaking coolant system?

My regular mechanic who knows my car, who is also a porsche specialist found no such faults on a similar check less than 6 weeks ago?

Any help would be appreciated.

Front levelling rod - no idea, unless it's a drop link or something to do with the anti roll bar.

You will no doubt have some sympathy here - maybe even suggestions as to your options, but it's not clear how you expect us to help you.

Surely, the thing to do is to go back to the people providing the advisories and ask them. :rolleyes:Also, should you be needing a second opinion, why not ask your "regular mechanic who knows your car and is also a Porsche specialist and has found no such faults....?"
Regards,

Clive

I would stick with your regular mechanic if that is possible.

No idea either what it could be...
Is it to do with the self levelling headlights? Though its not really a rod. I know in my 997.2 there is a levelling device behind the hub on front and rear passenger wheels. Though if it was this, you would have an error on dash.

Mine brought a light up on dash for 2 days and went away again....so last week when I was cleaning the wheel arches.... I sprayed plenty of wd40 around the little rods as there is nothing to them and it should help keep that light at bay and keep them from sticking.....Im assuming one of them got stuck previously and that gave me the error on my dash.
