Front Lip Spoilers/Headlamps bulbs

Hi all. Three questions if that is ok:

1. What effect do the front lip spoilers on both sides in terms of performance? They appear to be missing from my car and i understand they are easy to fit?

2. I have also noticed that the front dipped headlamps are quite dim. Does anyone have any experience of fitting aftermarket bulbs such as Philips X-Treme Power H7 (12v, 55w) or 'blue style' xenon gas bulbs? Do any bulbs tend to perform best on the 996?

3. Also what oil type should be used in gearbox/differential?

Thanks,

Steve

if you're talking flaps underneath the front PU these often come off with speed bumps and the like without any discernable impact on aerodynamics. If its the rigid part attached to the front then yes it will. Difficult to know what's missing without pics.

The standard dipped beam is not that great and in my experience does not improve massively with the upgraded bulbs you mention, many of these provide an improved aesthetic look by a bluer/whiter light but not from the drivers seat. Iknow having gone down that route on my two previous 996s.

I ended up going for an aftermarket HID upgrade which provides a big improvement and is a simple DIY. I still have the kit available having recently sold my C4S and returned to stock. Let me know if interested

There was quite an extensive thread a while back about lip spoilers. It might be worth a read

I put the Philips bulbs in and they are definitely better than a bog standard bulb but I'd still like to put a HID kit in.

This one is quite recent.
