Front Number Plate Bracket

I have recently purchased a 968 Cabriolet. The front number plate is attached directly onto the front bumper which looks wrong. Should it be attached to a supporting bracket?

I have searched on Google and it looks like this might be the part number?

911 701 121 00

Any advice would be appreciated.

Bought mine from OPC Stuttgart. Look the business. You have to cut your plates to length as the German plates are shorter.
