Front radiators

All three front radiators have all now failed over a course of 18 months - luckily all replaced under warranty.

The two side front radiators had apparently suffered with corrosion - a lot of "gunk" collects there and over time the seals fail. The front radiator has suffered a perforation about the size of a 1 penny coin due to a stone on the motorway.

When they took the central radiator off - it was peppered with small stone chips .

My question is have others suffered with similar problems and is there anything I can do to prevent damage from flying road debris - seems the radiators are in vulnerable spot.

I had a centre one holed on my 996 []
There was a thread a long while back about installing a mesh grill to stop the damage.. most likely in the 996 area..
I seem to remember it was a simple halford purchase. [&:]

Radiators are a big problem on Boxsters and 996's

Afraid the only answer is mesh's I remember one of the porscheshop type places did them for some of the models, cant rember who.

cargraphic do them for all models but they look naff IMO.

There have been threads in the Boxster area as well.

I've got a bit of mesh over my centre rad - but I did it myself - had to remove the bumper to do it though [:'(]
