Front & Rear Fog lights questions on 997.1 .....

Could anyone help me with these 2 questions please;

After yesterday and today's torrid fog around Surrey/Sussex, I used my fog lights on my (standard) 997.1 and when i got home, I thought I would check them out whilst on the drive to see how both the front and rear look like....

Q1. Front fog lights... horrible yellow light, in fact so are the pathetic side lights. Any ideas or thoughts about bulb upgrades which would make them match or at least look a similar bluefish tint as the Litronic lamps?

Q2. Rear for LIGHT... yes! Porsche, like so many manufacturers only seen to provide the legal (minimum) requirement of a driver's side fog light... presumably the "near side" rear light cluster must be able to house a near side fog light (as they would require on LHD cars in Europe....??

I realise that this is probably a bit of a boring topic, but any ideas or thoughts would be gratefully appreciated, or indeed similar experience in replacing these...

Many thanks in advance!!

Cheers jp

Fronts - I changed my gen1 997 to LED bulbs, made a world of difference. Just make sure you buy CAN BUS compatible ones.
Rears - The light clusters already have fog light bulb holders on both sides. They are programmed to use just one side, why I don't know. I don't think your friendly Porsche Centre can select both to work at the same time from their PIWIS.

They don't both come on at the rear so as not to confuse people into thinking that you are reversing. You should leave it this way.

A bit off topic but I wonder why they don't make the rear fogs flashing, a la F1 cars etc, to distinguish them from brake lights.

More like hazard warning lights - but red. They could have a rapid flash to distinguish further from turn lights - but I'm sure that would make them even more annoying when the car in front forgets to turn them off when leaving the fog!

But am I right in thinking that some brake lights flash when braking heavy or in an emergency?

Yes they do if the abs has kicked in. That too would not seem to be a good plan if drivers are attracted to flashing lights! Got a better idea- just stay in if it's foggy[:D]

The Macan has a feature which is when braking heavily and then coming to a complete stop the hazard flashers start up, they go off again when you move off, all automatically. Tried this at PEC.

I guess other models may have this feature too.
