Front & Rear Fogs - Out of Action

Thought I better take a look why my front and rear fogs were not working (or have they ever worked!!) as I took this evening to swap out the rear & centre tailights.

Now all the bulbs are good and fuse 14 is fine. Both switches light up when the side lights come on however when you switch on the front fog switch it glow brighter the rear ones light goes off.

Any ideas...[:-]

Siraj,

I'm pretty sure you need to have the HEADLIGHTS on before either the front or rear fog lights will work. It always seems to catch out the MOT testers too.

Pretty certain I checked with main lights on...so now that you have created some doubt in my mind and yes things do start dropping off now that I am in my Forties....

So went back out and did a quick check and yes with main lights on no front or rears....

Thinking about it when I picked up the car around 10 months ago I recall the front fogs working as I had them on that evening due to poor normal lights. However on an energetic surge on the A6 I am sure that they blipped and went off.....

Only covered a mere 1000 miles so far and all in good daylight so never really checked....I am sure the MOT will be due come September.

So back to any old advice.....

Kind Regards

Siraj
