Front Runner on Sunday

Not seen much reference to it but don't forget Front runner at HQ this weekend.

Hoping it will be the first outing for newly turbod Beaky, if all goes well over the next few days.

Is it a 'just turn up' session or are tickets required? My other half is planning a day in Mothercare stocking up on all the bits and bobs in preparation of our impending arrival so i'm not sure if I can make it, but if I can escape it I will pop along. A whole day in Mothercare with the wife and the Mother-in-Law pouring over baby stuff is not filling me with much delightful anticipation!!

It is a just turn up event with a drive out around the Cotswolds similar to the Cotswold Rally. I think the start time is about 10am.

There was a mention of it in last month's Porsche Post...[8|]

I'll be there, and may wear a name badge so's you can all come and introduce yourselves!

The 'FrontRun' this year is something a bit different.

Bring a camera!

There is no set route this year - instead you will be asked to travel to several villages - then take a picture in that place, if there are fellow Porsche owners in the same place see if you can get them in the photo as well.

See you there!

I understand that Rick will be assisting Pete in the transformation of Beaky so my confidence in making the event is growing.

Expect you to be hiding Jasper round the back, then?

That may yet be the case, but only because I have asked Pete not to rush. I would rather miss Sunday and ensure Beaky is in the peak of condition for Scotland at the end of the month.

Apparently one of the anti roll bar mountings has broken so we are awaiting a delivery from Porsche.

Any road up. New Turbo is on and inlet manifold about to go back on (though it sounds like there may be a bit of fettling required to achieve clearance) then it's on with the new front PU and new front lights. Allied to the resprayed badge panel and headlamp covers....... I'll not be recognising Beaky.

All going well he is also getting a 4 wheel alignment [:)]

...............I don't want to spend any more on him fot the next 12 months (although Paul is meant to be doing a bit of Chipsaway work on him when we can sort a convenient moment. [8|])

Are you having a pub lunch? My car is not going to be running, but I might pop up in the hearse if there will be a social aspect after the Porsche tyre-kicking.

I'll be VERY disappointed if I don't get anything other than coffee and biscuits..[:)]

I would think a pub lunch will be obligatory.

....... My car is not going to be running, ....

Never has the phrase "If it ain't broke fix it 'till it is." been so true. [;)]

Beaky hasn't been aligned, and stripping the back section off the existing lamp units has proved a knackerd nut too far in the time available..........but otherwise he is all ready to rock and can be used Sunday. [:)][:)]

Does anyone have a venue in mind for lunch?
If you want I can try & book us in at the Fox again but I will need an indication of numbers ASAP.

I don't think I can be any more than a maybe unfortunately, so that doesn't help with numbers.

Count me in!

Hi Paul

I`m going, I might lunch but I`ve got a lot on and cant be out all day. Which part of Herts are you in? Are there any others up for a convoy?
