Front shock absorbers ???

Hi all,

My Boxster has just passed its MOT test.

But the tester said the offside front shocker is very stiff compared with the nearside, he even put the car back on the ramps to show me.

My question is, has anybody purchased shock absorbers for their Boxster, if so what brand did you go for, where from and how much ?

I feel the handling of my Boxster is good and not to harsh, so I don't want to go for rock hard " race " items.

Any suggestions ?

Rob

Stick with stock items - Porsche spent thousands of miles researching the setitngs, so why riak anything else if you're happy with them. After 8 years even stock replacement are likely to feel different

I had this issue when putting a BMW through an NCTE (Irelands MOT) a few years back.

Its common enough especially if you travel B roads. The passenger side shock tends to get a rougher life as it has to deal with the potholes and bumps on the verve of the road.

I would guess that if you travel B roads, then its just a difference brought in different wear on the offside and nearside. Perhaps the offside was changed before ?

As I said, it seems to be a common issue in Ireland (gotta love our roads)

Well thats my 2c worth anyway :)

Thank you,

Good point the stock items it is then, does anybody know who manufactures the original items? where is the best place to buy them from ?
