Front shock inserts

Having looked around at replacement shock options it seems the best route is inserts for the front legs. I've narrowed it down to either Koni adjustables or Bilstein non-adjustable. Apparently the Bilsteins are monotube whilst the Koni's are not. As it's for my S2 cabrio which is mainly road use (but the odd track day here and there!) does anyone have opinions which are the better product?

I have the koni in my S2 and I have tended to fine tune the handling with them, you also have the benefit of being able to adjust as the shock gets older which I have just done on my rear koni. Make sure you match them with rear koni yellow. The koni are much firmer then the stock shocks but due to IMHO much higher quality you don't get a rough ride.
 
I recently had Konis installed in Beaky and have been very pleased with the results.

As noted previously, the option of changing settings from above (a la M030's) is a great advantage.
 
Did mine about the same time as John.. Am well happy, a big improvement. Am running 1/2 hard on the rear and 3/4 hard on the front...

 
Yes, I got mine from Stu. Delivered the next day and no problem. The only problem was getting some yellow spray to paint the remaining strut, as it's not so availible any more. At the same time I did replace the rubber bumpstops / covers and fixings on the struts, was only about £22 and made the job easier..



 
Thanks for your replies - it seems the Konis are the popular choice.

Does anyone out there have Bilsteins fitted?
 
My experience of Koni vs Bilstein is only with reference to a VW but IMO Konis are altogether better - provided they are spec'd to the springs.
