Front Splitter on an Aerokit

Being fed up of the constant scraping and painting of the splitter on my 2008 gen1 C2S factory fit aerokit I have enquired at both my local OPC and local OPC bodyshop about the interchangeability of the grp painted aerokit splitter and the gt3 black plastic splitter.

Neither are sure and don't know if the shape is exactly the same or the fittings.

Has anyone done this and if they have did the fittings line up, was the actual shape OK, and do you have the gt3 part number handy?

Thanks for any input.

David, I seem to remember a conversation about there being two for the GT3, one being a motorsport part and considerably cheaper than the norm...
Hopefully a GT3 owner will be along shortly to confirm or deny...

Having owned three 997s I have solved this problem. I have bought a Cayenne with air suspension [:D]

I'd hate to be round your house after my third headache! [;)]

GT3 ones will fit....motorsport one is about 75 +vat. You'll need to get the front end high to fit it, but a 5 minute job when the car is up in the air

Thanks for all the input, I should have asked the question here first because the longer you are in Porsche ownership the more you reailse how little the OPC's know about them and how much collective knowledge is in the forums.

Varies a lot from PC to PC too![;)]

New splitter now fitted and it cerainly looks and feels as if it will be infinitely more serviceable. P & O Ferries can test it on Thursday.

Thanks to Paul (speedy_un) for the linked article with the info.

To confirm the part number was P997.505.983.92 and cost £142.91 plus VAT. (less discount for members)
