Hi there all, can anyone fill me in with the correct procedure for doing this. One of the struts is bent and putting out the alignment of the offside wheel, so need to replace them and get back to driving the beast! Thanks in anticipation.

Not sure if there are any major differences between a C4 or C2 but you'll find a write up by Kevin about changing the suspension on his C2 at the link below:

Thanks Steve - I forgot all about that particular website. I'll have a thorough peruse tonight!
If you hadn't been hibernating you would know!! It isn't widely known, only to me, John Bogg, Paula, Carl 964 and Ali Cusick (chief photographer for 911 World) that on the last Rennlist North Wales Run, 2 weeks ago last Sunday, I took my eye off the road on the crest of a rise in looking where the other 3 cars had parked up to do a photo-shoot in the near distance, and caught my left rear wheel on the grass. Of course this caused the car to do a wiggle, then the back end came around and we ( a friend called Terry and me of course) ended up doing a sideways slide at a right angle to the road along the nice soft grassy bank, no rocks or anything very hard and coming to rest with the front of the car touching the road surface at a downward angle.
We got out and were just fine, no shock, whiplash or anything else. The side panel below the door on the passenger side had been knocked off, but Terry had clipped it back on before I saw it. The front bumper was crushed upwards, just the lower bars but enough to bust up the plastic grill that I had replaced about 18 months ago, and also both under the bumper under trays, one of which I replaced earlier this year! The rear corner bumper section on the passenger side was smashed up, and of course the support on that side. The centre section of the rear bumper is fine but the other corner section was damaged by the exhaust tip being knocked up into it and damaging it a bit, but while limping home the tip of course melted it a bit!! I am in the process of buying a 2nd hand front and rear bumper complete, and have already bought 2 of the front under trays. After the off, I started the car and got it back on the road facing back up to where the incident happened and decided to see if it would drive, which it did but felt strange and light up front. This all happened early on in the day so I carried on to where the photo shoot was taking place by the small lake where we stopped, all 31 Porsches on the first Rennlist run of the year, remember? My car does appear on the photoshoot but only on stationery shots! I drove home at the end of the day with a bit of trepidation as the car didn't like any bumps or deviations in the road surface but seemed good on smooth roads. Got back home and Kath said, WELL YOU WILL GO ON THESE SORT OF THINGS, BUT DIDN'T ASK HOW I WAS!! Anyway I drove it again to work the next day, Monday, to see how it felt again and try to decide what was wrong. I had a sudden brainwave (and had to sit down) and decided to ask the garage where I get my MOT's done if I could take it there to put it on the hoist and have a look around underneath, which he agreed to and said bring it up at 1.30pm. He checked it out and said that the steering was fine and also the wishbones,( which don't normally bend with an impact but shatter) and so he said it must be a bent strut. He didn't make any charge for this at all, which was good of him. So I will have to get 2 new struts to put that right and can then drive it. I was going to get the front windscreen surround sprayed anyway sometime this year, so there will be a bit more work to do on it. In the meantime I've bought a very nice Audi A3 SE (same model that I had years ago, before the S3). Its 51 reg with one former owner, and immaculate inside and out, with 97K mileage, but still very nice to drive. Much better that the Nissan Micra I hired for a week after the off. So now you know everything! Suppose you'll ring now??
